A: No, Australian citizens and people who hold a current Australian permanent residence visa or a current Australian resident return visa do not need a New Zealand visa to enter New Zealand. Citizens and permanent residents of Australia (who do not have certain criminal convictions) may visit, live and work in New Zealand indefinitely. Upon arrival, Australian citizens are exempted from the requirement to hold a permit and Australian permanent residents are granted a residence permit.
Q: What can I bring into New Zealand?
A: Information on customs requirements, including importing and import restrictions, allowances and agricultural restrictions, can be found on the New Zealand Customs Service website www.customs.govt.nz. Every person arriving in New Zealand must complete the arrival card handed out on the aircraft or ship. No vaccination certificates are required to enter New Zealand. There are strict biosecurity rules that travellers must follow when they come to New Zealand. These requirements are straightforward and easy to follow. Penalties for not following biosecurity rules are tough and fines can be instant. While many goods are restricted, only a few are completely banned. A: For the long tours you should give us a couple of months notice if you are coming in the high season. The sooner you let us know the easier for us to organize all the logistics related to your tour such as accommodation, activities, etc.
