Day tour to Coromandel from Auckland
A great day tour from Auckland to visit some great white sand beaches!
It's a great day tour from Auckland!
A beautiful 90-minute drive through the Bombay Hills will take you to Thames. After a short break we head for Coromandel Town where you will experience the fantastic 1 hour train ride at the Driving Creek Railway & Pottery with time to take plenty of pictures.
On our way to the east coast of the Peninsula we stop for a 10-minute walk to visit the Kauri Grove. Centennials Kauri Trees are waiting for you on this breathtaking walk!
Then, try digging your own "sand spa"* at Hot Water Beach. More than 2 kilometres under the ground there is a reservoir or hot water and heated rocks. The heat is a remnant of volcanic activity that occurred in the Coromandel region 5 to 9 milion years ago!
Some of New Zealand's most beautiful beaches come next: Hahei Beach and Cathedral Cove**.
*Low tide only
**40-min walk subject to guide discretion and track conditions.
